With a 2-1 victory over Poly last Friday, the Millikan Boys Soccer team has won the Moore League, again. This is not a new feat for head coach Rod Petkovic. In fact, it has become a trend. The team has won 10 of the last 11 Moore League titles, including a CIF Championship in 2012. Sitting atop the Moore League this year, Millikan is also ranked #4 in the CIF SS Division 1 polls as of yesterday. This year is poised to be a great one, as the Rams (22-1-5) have all the cogs turning in the right direction. With team captain Noel Moncada leading the scoring for Millikan, and Max Hintz preventing opposing goals, the Rams are looking square in the eye of another CIF title. They have a tough road ahead, no doubt, but given that the Rams have no injuries or major changes in the roster, there is no reason why a CIF title is not within their grasp. The boys finish their Moore League season with Jordan tomorrow at Jordan at 3:00pm. The opening round of CIF happens Friday, February 16th at home. The CIF brackets will be released on Monday.
