The Varsity boys water polo team is off to a relatively unknown, but solid start (6-1 overall). The Rams defeated Cypress and Bosco in their first two non-league games, and proceeded to take 1st place in the Weisz Tournament last weekend. They defeated some tough opponents including the Trinity League’s J. Serra HS. The boys, however suffered their first loss yesterday to a tough division opponent Sonora HS. Sonora and Millikan play each year, with the Rams coming out on top last season. Sonora is ranked in the top 10 of the CIF division 4 polls. The one-goal-loss to Sonora however, is in part due to some key injuries. But, given that league play is still over a week out, Millikan should be at full strength heading into the latter half of the season, prepping this year for a potentially deep run in the playoffs. Millikan will begin Moore League against Lakewood (at the Cabrillo HS Showcase) next week. Good luck and keep rolling Rams!
