Rams News · Millikan Football Takes on Poly In Big Moore League Match Up

The varsity football team is gearing up for its biggest game of this season. The Rams (2-1) have played a purposefully tough schedule to prepare for tonight’s game against Poly (2-2). Millikan is led by several returning varsity starters who have multiple years of varsity experience. The Jackrabbits beat Millikan last year 28-0, however Poly has lost a few of their big names from the previous season giving Millikan an edge in overall experience. Poly’s defense has  been really tough on some very good teams, including against state ranked Narbonne in week 1. But, Millikan’s defense has also been a bright spot for the Rams. For Millikan to win, they will need to contain Poly’s athleticism, and limit costly penalties and turnovers. Poly has scored multiple defensive touchdowns this season, and the Rams will need to be very clean offensively to limit any Poly points from the opposite side of the ball. The Millikan offense has yet to break out this season with big numbers, but with the veteran staff getting more anxious for big offensive nights, look for Millikan to be aggressive and expose any potential loopholes in Poly’s defense. Millikan had a bye last week which will help their overall health and study for this game. Poly is coming off of two consecutive losses and is looking to put their foot down and place their stamp on the Moore League.  While this may be the biggest game of the year for Millikan, Poly, on the other hand, also has something to prove. Regardless, it should be a fun night. Millikan v. Poly at Vets Stadium 7:00pm kickoff.
