Rams News · Millikan Wins Thriller on Homecoming Night

The homecoming game is the biggest home game of the year. Tons of fans, tons of activities, and tons of excitement. Last Friday’s game against Wilson was one of the more exciting homecoming games in recent times. Combined with senior recognition night, a DJ, the announcing of Mr. and Ms. Ram, fireworks, and a giant inflatable Ram head, the football team had a lot to live up to. They did their job by securing a 21-20 victory over Wilson. Millikan made it hard on themselves early in the game by missing two field goals from medium distance. The Rams took a 7-0 lead into halftime instead of a 13-0 lead if the field goals were made. Millikan managed to rattle off two TD’s in the 3rd quarter, but prior to that Wilson made quick work of a pick 6 that tied the game early in the 2nd half. Wilson turned on the jets in the 4th, and scored twice to bring the score to 21-20 with less than a minute left. Wilson decided to go for a fake kick and Millikan’s Zach Martin deflected the pass to secure the Millikan win. It was a great night all around, and the win guaranteed Millikan the 2-seed for the CIF D7 playoffs. Millikan will now play Jordan at Jordan (0-5) for their final game of the regular season. Playoffs begin Nov. 2nd and it is very possible Millikan will get a home game.
