The Millikan Football team lost a tough game on Friday against Culver City 43-30 in the CIF D7 Quarterfinals. For the past four weeks, the Rams have played very good football. Limiting mistakes, forcing turnovers, and gelling nicely as a team. Last Friday, Millikan missed opportunities, and allowed the Centaurs to take advantage of miscues leading to a hard-fought, but frustrating loss. The Rams played well enough to compete, but penalties, and missed scoring opportunities prevented Millikan from overcoming a late lead by Culver City. Millikan was led by quarterback Qeanu Campbell-Caldwell who utilized almost all of his weapons in the air. Zack Martin, Nathan Martinez, Jayden Davis, Dylan Davis, Jaylen Jefferson, and Malik Bradford all had catches in the game. Millikan’s rush attack also had bright spots, as Qu’Juan Campbell rushed for over 100 yards again, including an 80-yd TD late in the game. Millikan made it close in the 4th making the score 28-22 with 5:00 minutes on the clock, but a crushing 70yd screen pass by Culver City put them in prime opportunity to increase their lead. Regardless, the Rams did not give up, nor did they play timid. It was a great season, and one that will continue to build a winning culture for years to come.
