The boys varsity basketball team had a tough opponent in the Moore League opener. Millikan played Compton on Wednesday night, and suffered a 68-56 loss at the Howard Lyon gym. The Rams under new leadership this year, have had a good overall start. The team has finished 3-1 and 2-2 in their first two tournaments, but fell to St. Anthony before Compton. Millikan will have a bye this Friday and continue their league schedule against Jordan on Monday, the 17th at Jordan.
The girls varsity basketball team on the other hand had a great start to the Moore League season besting Compton by almost 50 points. The lady Rams are playing in CIF D2AA playoff bracket this year, a welcome place given their tough draws in previous years. Millikan has lost only one game in the preseason and looks to challenge Poly for the Moore League title again this year.
