Rams News · Millikan Alum Spencer Steer Drafted by the Twins in the 3rd Round

It is a great day when you are able to share the successes of athletes who once paraded our halls. Spencer Steer graduated from Millikan in 2016. He played 4 years of varsity baseball, and was a stand out player every year. Spencer received a scholarship to play for the University of Oregon under Coach George Horton after his freshman year. Spencer went on to set the all time Oregon RBI record, and was a 1st Team All Pac 12 selection in 2019. Spencer was the Millikan Eaton O. Bemis award winner in 2016, and was a member of our Compass academy.

On June 4th, 2019 Spencer was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 3rd round (90th overall pick), with a compensation slot of $657,000. Spencer and the entire Steer family are ardent supporters of Millikan and Millikan baseball. You will frequently see a Steer at Millikan events, the most likely place being Blair Field. Millikan is proud of Spencer and the entire Steer family.

Congrats, Spencer! Do great things, and as always…
